I know I did one of these a while ago, but since I love movies I really couldn't help it!
I started thinking of quotes while trying to put movies to the ones on
lady_hiwatari's journal...
Here are my 15 movie quotes...I hope you enjoy them even if you don't know the films!

" Shivpuri district in the state of Madhya Pradesh, an overpopulated area renowned for its machismo culture, has started to offer fast-tracked gun licences for those who agree to be sterilised."
gotta love the wording there! And apparently their plan is working...

I just wanna say that I love my physics professor. For starters, he uses "technical" terminology in class that makes it easier for people like me to understand. Today we were discussing the "wiggleation" of waves, and in the past we've discussed "big-ass electro-magnets" and other fun things. In addition to his wonderful vocabulary we also get conversations like these:
Dr. Wragg: "Let's have a round of applause for my lovely assistant"
male student: *waves to the class before returning to his seat*
Dr. Wragg: "Next time you should wear something nicer."
male student: "Yeah."
Dr. Wragg: "Maybe something with frills."
male student: "You mean, like something from your closet?"
Dr. Wragg: *makes a note on the class roster*
XD
It was great!! And then we watched a video of Lasik eye surgery.
And now for the meme I borrowed from

Hmm...My favorite book. That's a really tough one. I'm a little bit of a bookworm and I like so many books it's hard to choose! Since I can't actually decide, I'll give you a selection of my top choices:
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. It's definitely one of my favorite books. I'm a huge Jane Austen fan (I own all of her novels and most of her shorter works, too), and P&P is my favorite of her novels (with Sense and Sensibiliy and Persuasion tied for second). I really identify with Elizabeth Bennet. She's smart and funny, has a realistic view of life and isn't afraid to speak her mind. She's also her father's daughter (a daddy's girl). I like to think that I'm like her (even if it's not necessarily true). But more important that Elizabeth is Mr. Darcy. Really, what more do I need to say? I want a Mr. Darcy of my own someday! :D
The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. Hobbits, Elves, Orcs, Wizards, Giant Eagles...I love this book. Once I started I couldn't put it down. The story, the characters, the settings, everything is just so amazing and engaging. Every time I start reading it I get sucked into the story and completely forget the world around me. I really like it when a book can engage me to that level. I don't think I'll ever get tired of reading it!
The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. I love all of Douglas Adams' books actually (the Dirk Gently series is also very worth reading), but this is where I started. It's just so zany and quirky! I had only read 2 sentences and I was laughing. I never stopped laughing until I closed the back cover. After reading The Hitchhicker's Guide I use "42" as my answer for everything. I've also made "Don't Panic" my mantra for when I'm stressed or nervous.
There are so many more books that should be included here, but it's just too massive of an undertaking for me for tonight...maybe I'll expand on this later...

My favorite stuffed animal is, without a doubt, Foofer. I normally can't give a definitive answer when asked for my "favorite" anything, so the fact that I can say this without even blinking just goes to show how much I love him.
Foofer is a blue dog (I found out recently that he's actually the main character in a 1-season 80's cartoon show). He was given to my grandmother about a year before I was born. Once I came into the world she tied him on my crib with his long gangly legs. For a few years he stayed at my grandparent's house so that I always had a toy to play with when I went over there (they just live across town, so I was over there a lot). But by the time I was five he was officially mine and he's gone with me everywhere ever since.
Foofer has gone with me to summer camps and family vacations. I even took him in my carry-on luggage for my trip to Hong Kong in 2004 as well as to Nottingham last spring. I sleep with him (and about 7 other stuffed animals/pillows) every night. My Mom doesn't really approve of the sleeping with stuffed animals, but I don't care. There will never be a day when I don't have Foofer beside me!!
*holds Foofer tightly*

Even though I never asked
skyangel2009 or
wiccanlillyany questions (my brain stopped working and I couldn't think of any), I decided to post this meme anyway. I'm a sucker for memes and I found this one rather interesting.
Here goes:
Everyone has things they blog about. Everyone has things they don't blog about. Challenge me out of my comfort zone by telling me something I don't blog about, but you'd like to hear about, and I'll write a post about it. Ask for anything: latest movie watched, last book read, political leanings, favourite type of underwear, etc.

It's truly amazing what the right music and a couple of Cadbury Creme Eggs can do...I went from wanting to strangle just about every member of my group to being incredibly happy and giggly. :D

:D I love getting packages!!! Kelly looked at me funny and said, "Two in one day?!" as I was signing for the most recent package. I don't care. They make me happy!! It's true that with the exception of the one from my Grandmother they tent to have a negative impact on my bank account. Oh well, it's TOTALLY worth it!! *grins from ear to ear* I'm still waiting on 2 more packages, but I've sworn up and down that I'm not buying another darned thing....at least not for a while. :p

I've seen some very interesting band uniforms...the C of C pep band is currently wearing maroon polos, but we did go with Hawaiian shirts for a couple of years. But I think that of the band outfits I saw at this year's Southern Conference Tournament Davidson takes the cake. Though I couldn't find an actual picture of their band I did manage to find the picture that they modeled their outfits after:

The only differences were that they had short sleeves and no hats/caps.

It's that time of year again...the time of College Basketball Conference Tournaments! I'm not really a big sports fan, but college basketball is one of the few sports I actually enjoy to some extent (the others being tennis, soccer, and hockey).
I'm a proud member of the Mighty C of C Pep Band, and have had to give up about half of my valuable Spring Break to come back and play for our games in the Southern Conference. It's a lot of fun, but it's also very time consuming. We've been having 2 games a day for the past couple of days now. I actually had to get up at 7:00am yesterday (I don't even get up that early for class!) to play for the women's game and didn't get home until midnight due to the men's game. We had another women's game today at noon. It was their last game, since they lost (to the #1 seed). I was less enthusiastic than usual since I'm running on Starbucks and Mountain Dew and also lost an hour of sleep. I actually forgot to set my clock ahead last night and was reminded by my parents at 9:00am. Fortunately for me I had set the alarm on my cell phone which adjusts automatically and I also have helpful parents who look out for me.It didn't matter that they hadn't reminded David about it since he has nothing to do today, but they call me to make sure I'm up for the game about 2 hours before I'll even think about leaving my apartment!
So now I have a few hours to do a little of the homework I've been avoiding before I go meet up with Tammi to see the Spiderwick Chronicles at 4:20. I've worked it out and if I take my tenor and band shirt with me to the movie we can grab a quick dinner before I drop her off and then head out to North Charleston once more...
